Before I explain why this new brewer is so great, let me tell you a small story. About 5 years ago, I made the OREA V1. A small, fast, unibody flat bottom brewer designed for brewing anywhere you go. Our goal during the 4 years between V1 and O1 was to create the best brewer for everyday use. Our rewards came when both the V3 and the V4 were used to win the World Brewers Cup in the last three years. We have a deep understanding of what tastes good and we constantly adjust our devices to make them better. Our goal for the O2 was to create a solid platform to build on top of, with flexible capacity for 1-2 people. Along with this brewer come a fresh set of new tools to help extend and ease the brewing process with our beloved brewers. Our flat bottom brewers are legendary for their performance, consistency, and the resulting delicious cup of coffee. We define extraction efficiency - designing devices that brew quickly but at increased extraction rates. Our attention to detail and constant improvement in designs yields a perfect platform to brew on. The O2 is no different. Designed to work with WAVE and FLAT filters, compatible with the Negotiator tool and as consistent, fast, and efficient as our O1 brewers but with added capacity for up to 28grams of coffee / 460ml.

WAVE filters are easy, fast, and extremely available around the world. They allow more bypass, airflow, and create a narrower bed. Usually under the same parameters, they result in a less concentrated brew. Many like them for their ease of use, plug-and-play nature, and quick brew times. The O2 is compatible with the traditional 185 WAVE sized paper / our LARGE sized WAVE paper.

FLAT filters are fun, delicious, and offer a higher quality of brew due to a lowering of bypass and the creation of a wider, shallower bed of coffee in our brewer. Many like them for the juicy, sweet, full-bodied cups they help create by ensuring more water passes through the coffee and less around it. The O2 is compatible with the LARGE, 185 OREA Flat Filters / the LARGE, 185 Sibarist FAST Flat Filters.

There is no wrong answer - the O2 is a best-in-class device whatever filter type you throw at it. Whether you choose convenience vs fun, or simply like to have the option while travelling - you will love the brews that come out of the O2.

ORiginal open bottom

Our original OPEN bottom design has featured in our Glass, Porcelain, V4 and O1 brewers for years. The OPEN bottom provides a ridge for the flat paper to stand atop, designed to find the perfect balance of support and space. The paper naturally bends through the middle, encouraging a more central flow of water through the coffee bed. With this style of brewer we find our most unique profile of acidity, with a more conical flow pattern through a shallow flat bottom bed. Candy-like acidity without sacrificing balance, sweetness and body. A masterpiece that has been much duplicated but not yet replicated.

The O2 brings with it a new set of accessories called "The Regulators" that turn a very sturdy and simple brewer into a powerful platform. Just plug and play - the regulators are super simple to use and help transform your one brewer into a full brewing system. Modulate flow rate or turn the O2 into an immersion brewer, all at an affordable cost.

EASY TO USE

Just press the Regulators into any of our O1 or O2 brewers. Once they're in, they're in, and won't go anywhere. They're made from a BPA-free food-safe silicone, making them easy to insert, remove, or clean without any damage. Brewing with them is easy - almost like training wheels, reducing fault rates even further.

controlled FLOW

Each regulator has a unique-sized drainage hole to control the maximum output flow rate. This puts you as the brewer in control over other key variables, like grind size, by ensuring a minimum contact time for the brew. The result is a consistent drawdown without ever clogging.

The regulators get their shape from our beloved V4 FAST bottom - the most efficient brewing design in the market. A series of grooves cover the bed of coffee, providing contact points and space for liquid to drain efficiently without ever clogging. We used this award-winning design and built some new ideas on top of it.
